Haad Rin is home to the world's best beach rave

Haad Rin is the centre of Koh Phangan’s nightlife and boasts the highest concentration of bars and nightlife venues in Gulf of Thailand. Other locations, while offering a few specific themed bars and clubs, just do not match Haad Rin and in comparison are havens of tranquillity.

The monthly Full Moon Party at Haad Rin Nok Beach is one of the most anticipated events in the region and draws thousands of partygoers. The Half Moon parties at nearby Ban Tai take place twice a month. Apart from the parties and Haad Rin’s myriad venues, other places offering small pockets of nightlife are Thong Sala, Chaloklum and Haad Yao.

Although most people do come to Koh Phangan for the parties and Haad Rin’s nightlife, the offerings are not just limited to dancing to hip-hop and drum n’ bass, as the quieter locations offer ambient cafés with beachside hammocks and restaurants where intimate meals can be enjoyed.

Haad Rin is the epicentre of nightlife on the island. The 800m long Haad Rin Nok Beach is heaven for partygoers on the full moon when several sound systems compete to play the finest tunes. In the narrow sois leading up from the beach areas here there are lots of bars playing diverse styles music and catering to all tastes.

The town’s girlie bar strip, a night-market where vendors serve up all kinds of regional and southern Thai delicacies, lots of restaurants and several expat pubs provide visitors with a choice of destinations.

The girlie bar strip on Baan Tai Road south of Thong Sala is the island’s smaller equivalent of Patpong. The 10 or so bars here are staffed by young beauties who wave at passing tourists to entice them in. Opening Hours are from around 18:00 to 01:00.
