Koh Tao adventure activities and sports
The beach is the perfect place for yoga
Generally most people visit Koh Tao for the underwater action, specifically its beautiful clear water, myriad of fish and coral gardens. Dive courses and fun dives can be arranged once you arrive on Koh Tao or by booking in advance with the dive resort on the internet. The sites are either close to the beach on Koh Tao, a few kilometres offshore or farther afield to more remote locations.
Koh Tao now has a great selection of spas with a wide range of treatments and facilities. From mountain top locations to venues by the seaside, on offer here you will find steam rooms, saunas, body scrubs and wraps, therapeutic and traditional treatments, reflexology and massages. There are places providing ayurvedic, water and beauty treatments, not forgetting spirulina and aromatherapy.
For those who are not divers, snorkelling is a great way to see the underwater life. Snorkelling gear can be hired from the resorts if you don’t have your own and there are many great reefs right off the beach. Alternatively travel agents will arrange tours for you or you can negotiate with a long tail boat yourself by the hour or day.
More on snorkelling.
If you want to try something new, there is a great adventure company, Good time adventures, based in Sairee offering some great activities absailing and cliff jumping to trying your hand at the trapeze!
